Listened to some of your music and loved your mandolin playing. As far as instruments are concerned I'm a two-trick pony - guitar and spoons - so I have to accept that although the mandolin was my first instrument, I never could or will be able to make it sound that good. I just tripped over this as I was lurking here :) :) :)

That is so cool that you too played mandolin ! One day we'll knit&pick together. I feel it in my bones. :) There are no videos of me playing ! Photos yes, videos, well... not including the local tv show, which I honestly don't know how to link you to. However, there is a wee blogsite where you can see what's up with my duo http://kellyandjekelduo.com/ and from there you can find the secret passage way into an unlisted site and see videos.. but um.. only with our sound tracks. :) Anyway, always a pleasure to cross paths with you ! The roofer estimated he would need 15% extra recycled slates, so the back of the house will be a new roof of old slates. The front of the house is rosemary tiles and those will be put back on too. I'm all for recycling, in fact there's a single storey at the very back of the house which had been re-roofed with horrible concrete tiles, which are coming off and being replaced by the original old slates xJean Mosshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05430583488790118270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3459793983787244558.post-23947573335360591032013-03-22T01:19:46.296Z2013-03-22T01:19:46.296ZGlad to know spring has arrived in York, Jean! That mishap with the tow rope must have been nearly 50 years ago! Absolutely amazing to see that old Guild again and just about as amazing to see the repair has still held together - in those days "glued it back together" might have been a better description. I've learnt a lot since then. If you and the old guitar could ever find your way down to Sussex I'd be honoured to give it a set up and a bit of TLC. Meanwhile you won't go far wrong with a Martin. I don't know if you remember but back in those Manchester days I had a beat up old Martin. I've still got it, turns out it was made in 1900. So no crossing the road without that one in its case.Ian Chisholmhttp://www.ianchisholm.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3459793983787244558.post-78242016017474150622013-03-18T13:31:13.122Z2013-03-18T13:31:13.122ZI'm honor'd to be the first to comment on ...I'm honor'd to be the first to comment on this post of yours, full of aspiration, recapture of a life you once knew, and all around delicious photos of acoustic instruments!
